On July 29, 2020, Mufti A. Beganskas, Chairman of the Lithuanian Muslim Religious Community-Muftiate, received from the Head of the Turkish Directorate of Religious Affairs - DIYANET, his excellency Prof Dr. Ali ERBAŞ, congratulations on the occasion of the Feast of Sacrifice (Eid ul-Adha or Kurban bairam).
In his letter to Mr. A. ERBAŞ outlined the glorious history of Hagia Sophia and the belief of the Turkish people to restore her place of worship. Prof. A. Erbaś conveyed his sincere wishes and expressed his respect for the Lithuanian Muslim community. He hopes to perform a congregational prayer with the Mufti A. Beganskas in the Hagia Sophia Mosque soon, Insha Allah.
