Ramadan Sadaqa Project - 2020

#TIKA, #Ramadan2020, #SadaqaProject2020

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and the announced quarantine in Lithuania, the Muslim community has received a special welcome this month for Ramadan.

When all mosques in Lithuania were closed, Muslims persevered in fasting Ramadan from dawn to sunset. They studiously read the Quran at home or in virtual Quran learning circles online, performed obligatorily and night prayers only surrounded by family members, and restricted traditional iftar meetings and visits to relatives and friends.

This month of Ramadan, the Council of Lithuanian Muslim Religious Communities - Muftiate, continuing close inter-institutional diplomatic relations with the governmental institution of the Republic of Turkey TIKA (Ministry of Tourism and Culture), organized the Ramadan Sadaqa project 2020. TIKA offered Halal meat and other food provisions to those who do not have sufficient funds to meet their needs and do not ask for help from others due to modesty or self-esteem.

The project reached the following communities: Vilnius, Kaunas, Alytus, Klaipėda, Nemėžis, Švenčionys, Visaginas, and Trakai. May Allah accept our fast and good deeds.

May Allah facilitate and accept fasting.
